With more than 30 years of frontline and management experience in the construction industry, Nick Childs is the trigger behind WBI’s growth and expansion. Childs’ has wide-ranging and comprehensive experience in residential, commercial and industrial construction.
Childs started his construction career in the residential market and transitioned to commercial and industrial sector in the mid- 1980s. He joined WBI in 1995 as a carpenter and assumed project management responsibilities for the company two years later.
Following the passing of WBI founder Frank Wojcik in 2007, Childs purchased the company in June 2008 and set forth on a path to expand its’ service offerings while remaining true to the company’s core principles of integrity, quality craftsmanship and dedication to employees.
Since taking over ownership of WBI, the company has experienced continued growth and has been recognized as a Weatherhead 100 Company by Case Western Reserve University’s Weatherhead School of Management. The honor is bestowed upon companies displaying Northeast Ohio’s spirit of entrepreneurship and who are the best example of leadership, growth and success in our region.
Childs resides in Leroy, Ohio, with his wife Jami, and is an avid outdoorsman who enjoys camping, fishing and hunting. He also enjoys spending time with his five grandchildren and great grandchild.
Ryan Shumaker brings a wealth of construction management experience to WBI and its clients. Shumaker joined WBI in 2015 as a senior project manager and was promoted to his current position in 2017. The University of Toledo graduate has worked on multiple high profile projects for a diverse list of clients including Xellia Pharmaceuticals, Saybrook Memory Care Facility and Jo-Ann Fabrics. Shumaker and his wife, Angela, have a daughter, Eliana, and he enjoys skiing and golfing.
Jordan G. Westropp
Executive Vice President
Jordan G. Westropp joined WBI in 2015 bringing more than 40 years of construction industry experience with him. Ever the entrepreneur, Westropp launched his own construction company at the age of 22 and has served in both the general contractor and construction manager roles.
Westropp has a worked on a wide range of construction projects including multi-family and senior care housing, health care, manufacturing, automobile, banking, aviation, retail, hospitality, corporate, institutional, industrial, education, high -tech and distribution facilities. His extensive knowledge of construction and financial management practices allows him to assist WBI clients execute projects that are delivered on time, on budget and on target.
A holder of a Miller Heiman Certified Professional® designation for sales and service excellence, Westropp is also a FAA certified pilot who enjoys flying in addition to skeet shooting, music and reading. He is married and the father of two.
With more than 30 years of construction experience, Titgemeier serves as WBI’s senior estimator for the company’s numerous projects working closely with clients and the WBI staff. He joined WBI after owning and managing his own construction company for more than two decades and working with clients across the Greater Cleveland metropolitan area. When not at work Titgemeier enjoys spending time with his wife, Martha, and their three children.
Since joining WBI Jeremy Campbell has put his 15 years of experience in the construction/construction management industry to good use. In his role as a general superintendent he has worked on a variety of projects in the education (Streetsboro High School and The University of Akron), healthcare (Akron General and Cleveland Clinic) and retail (Mattress Firm and Vitamin Shoppe) markets. In his spare time, the Wadsworth resident enjoys hunting, biking and family activities.
Estimator & Project Manager
Tim Skala joined Wojcik Builders in 2014 with more than 20 years of design and manufacturing experience from the architectural sign and graphics field. In his current role as WBI’s Estimator & Project Manager, Skala works closely with clients setting schedules, monitoring budgets and ensuring a hassle-free process. Skala is a graduate of Kent State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Design. When not in the office, Skala enjoys the outdoors, fishing, boating and spending time with his wife, Lori, and the couple’s two children.
A 20 year plus veteran of WBI, Tim Dardy joined the company in 1995 as a carpenter working side by side with future owner Nick Childs. Dardy worked his way up through the company ranks, and today supervises all scheduling and project management. Dardy resides in Leroy Township, Ohio and is an avid golfer who – when he is not overseeing one of WBI’s many projects – can be found on the links sharpening his game.
Jon Springer joined WBI in 1993 as a carpenter and worked his way up through the ranks to his current project manager position. In his present role, Springer manages some of WBI’s most high-profile new build and renovation projects ensuring schedules are maintained and clients are satisfied. He also works closely to make sure WBI’s safety protocols are followed and compliant with current OSHA regulations. In his spare time, Springer enjoys working on home projects, weekend getaways and staying busy with his girlfriend and their children with sports and college.
Jim Ettinger, CAPM
Jim Ettinger brings more than three decades of construction experience to the high-profile projects he manages for WBI. A Certified Associate in Project Management, Ettinger has successfully managed new build and renovation projects for auto dealer, institutional, retail, pharmaceutical and healthcare clients. In his free time this father of three enjoys camping, fishing, kayaking and golf.
A carpenter by trade, Patrick Eberly started his construction career with WBI in 1997. During his time with the company has risen through the ranks to become a project superintendent and has contributed to numerous projects for a diverse lineup of clients including Kalahari Convention Center, Audi of Bedford, BMW of Westlake, Ganley Dodge and Chevrolet, and Xellia Pharmecutical. The father of two is big sports fan and enjoys golf, basketball, kayaking and outdoor adventures.
Debbie Reed brings more than 15 years of accounts payable, payroll and job costing experience in the construction and construction management business. Reed has an associates degree in accounting and enjoys bowling, concerts and attending Cleveland Cavaliers games in her spare time.
Accounts Receivable/Office Coordinator
Juliannah Childs began employment at Wojcik Builders on an internship while studying architecture at Bowling Green State University in 2015. She became office coordinator in 2016 responsible for accounts payable and payroll along with contractor bonds and registrations. In 2017, she moved to accounts receivable, handling customer invoicing and job costing reporting. Childs is currently studying business at Lakeland Community College and she is a notary for the State of Ohio. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her fiancé and son, as well as reading and dancing.
